The Cake-Chen
This project is a bakery with a cookery workshop in it. It is located in the city of Nottingham where the old fire station was.
The old Central Police and Central Fire Stations were built and opened in 1940 by the defunct Corporation of Nottingham to serve as the Headquarters of the Nottingham City Police.
This brand is a bakery which mainly sells cakes and a few pastries. The main feature of the shop is the self-learning workshop and the showing kitchen.
Customers can see how the chef decorate the cake on the bar seats and from the openings in the workshop. There is also a baking tools and ingredients supply retail upstairs for people who want to bake at home.
This bakery is design to be a natural, comfortable space for people to enjoy their food, as well as providing equipments and ingredents for baking lovers.
The ground floor is for the customers to buy baking products and enjoy their food in the cafe. Where the first floor is separated into two sections.
The right side is a shop where you can buy ingredients, decorations, cooking books and tools you need for baking. The other side of the building is where the self-learning baking workshop is.
In the workshop, you will get a tablet with your chosen cake/pastry recipe in it. Then you follow the step, get the ingredients from the ingredient station, back to your table, and enjoy your experience of baking.
The washing station is on the counter, so customers do not need to do the washing afterwards.
