THE BAKOERY
This is a project of building creative reuse of an existing building in Clumber Park. Through adding extensions and redesign the existing building, giving a new function to the building. The original cycle hub will be redesigned into a multifunctional building that contain bakery, cafe and cookery school, aiming to attract people in the younger age group to visit Clumber park
The project is going to incorporate the view of nature within the building by adding more openings, letting visitors to enjoy the beauty of nature, the taste of the baking product and the fun of baking at the same time.
The existing building is an old, classic brick building in Clumber Park, and in this project, this building will stay the same other than a little structural change on the back wall. The original entrance of the building will be used as one of the entrances of the cafe. The other entrance of the cafe is inside the extended corridor (see number 5 in the plan). The existing building is designed as a cafe, where the counter and back seating area is an extension attached to it. There is a Kitchen in the middle of the cafe, which is shared between the cafe and bakery. There is storage inside the kitchen and a back door is also contained for any supplies delivery.
Walking along the corridor, the Clumber Park landscape can be seen through the big openings, and that there are seats as well just next to the windows. The bakery is the second room along the corridor, it is just a small shop that provides take away food. Toilets posited next to the bakery, and the rooms at the very back of the building are the cookery school studios, where the baking lesson take place. The studio on the left (see number 12 in the plan) is for baking seniors, therefore, each student would have a table each, where the other studio (see number 11 in the plan) is for the junior baking class to take place. Both studios have a locker room (see number 13 in the plan) for students to keep their belongs. Before entering the cooking studios, students would need to wait outside, so a small waiting area is designed outside the room, with glazed openings on the walls, so that people can see how do the classes work. Seats are installed in the waiting area as well.
